I'm all about the precious moments right now too. I got my education, did the corporate america thing, traveled the world. And today I woke up to my 10 year old son and my almost six year old son coming to snuggle before starting the day. What could possibly be better than that? ...certainly not high heels and premiers. It was fun reading your blog Louise, your take on things took me by surprise.

Oh, Louise, this is great. I felt like I was right there with you. Funny that I was adding up the cost of your "free" night in my head long before you got to the tally!

Babysitters aren't cheap, and good ones shouldn't be, of course. But it sure adds up!

In 10 years, many of those 26-year-old stick-thin chicks will be pouring the Mr. Bubble into the tub, too. And happily, I hope.

Time does fly. My son is now almost 14. My husband and I had a chance to go hear Bill Clinton speak the other night and we were able to go, leaving Matt at home with the dog and his algebra homework for a few hours. It reminded me how far we've come, and how little time it will be until Matt heads off to college and we have all the time in the world for such things.

I may not wear spike heals then (or now!). But I wouldn't mind at all taking in a movie premier with Minnie Driver.
