If you were to type in “makeup tutorial” on video-sharing website YouTube, you’ll find more than two millions results. It may seem like a long, endless list, but we’ve narrowed it down to the top five looks that we know you’ll love.
YouTube superstar Michelle Phan has over a million subscribers, a contract with Lancome and has even been featured in the New York Times. Phan may be more well known for her over-the-top looks (her most viewed videos are all based on Lady Gaga), but her “Professional Day to Glamorous Nights Out” look is doable for those of us who want to be taken more seriously.
Lauren Luke’s “Autumn/Fall make up ideas tutorial’ has plenty of inspiration for the rest of the season, if not longer. Love the makeup that she’s using? Luke has her own line at Sephora.
Kandee Johnson, a professional makeup artist, appears here with her mom. Both have beautiful faces, but Kandee really transforms her mom into a glamour queen. You can tell they’re close; they’re so much fun to watch.
We love that Marlena creates looks for a range of skin tones. Her look here was created with a New Year’s party in mind, but it’s accessible for any party this time of year. It’s shimmery, colorful and fun. (And we promise it’s not as blingy as the still appears here.)
The gorgeous girls of Pixiwoo, Samantha and Nicola, categorize their videos well under Basics, Trends and Creatives. These ladies are so classy (maybe it’s the English accent) that we chose a sophisticated look from them—and it doesn’t get more timeless than the Audrey Hepburn-inspired look here.
