1. Earthquake and Tsunami Hit Japan
An 8.9-magnitude earthquake, the most powerful in at least 100 years, hit Japan on Thursday. Shortly after a tsunami hit the Eastern coast and then continued on to Hawaii and the West Coast of the U.S. Hundreds are said to have died in Japan. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone there.

2. Up-Inspired Floating House
Some people over at National Geographic Channel staged a real-life house launch using 300 8-foot colored weather balloons. The house reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for about an hour. More pictures here.
