Design Your Own Photobook

sue blog SandL arubaKids and pictures. The two go hand in hand. In fact, many of life’s little moments are blown out of proportion just to become a kid-centric photo op. You know what I’m talking about – the cute outfit on the first day of school, sitting on Santa’s lap, picking out a pumpkin, etc. Even I have been known to make sure the girls’ pajamas coordinate on the night before Easter. You know – so they’ll look good in the egg hunt pictures! What? Is that weird?

So, how do you corral all those images? A photobook, of course. I’ve already written about my love of Shutterfly back in this post but now they’ve come out with something that will change the way you make your photobooks. Their new Custom Path program allows you to completely customize your book. You see, I’m one of those crazy people who needs more options than just the standard 100+ page layouts. With Custom Path, you can tweak the size or orientation of any photo and even drop in text blocks wherever you want them. (There a bunch exciting new changes. Check out the details here.) But if you need a little help, don’t fear. Shutterfly still offers Simple Path where you pick the pictures and they make the book. Quick and easy. But not enough for someone as anal detail-oriented as me!

Bonus: All Shutterfly photo books are on sale until June 12th. They come in 5 sizes (I like the 8×8 for gifts and the 12×12 for my annual family recap) and they start at only $12.99!

Gratuitous picture of my kids photographed by me. For my tips on getting great pictures of your kids, check out this post.

  1. Photo books are such a great idea for gifts or a keepsake. And your girls, by the way, are beyond adorable! Hope you’ll keep sharing!

  2. Absolutely love Shutterfly! Just made my first book using the new custom path. I have been trying to reach someone at Shutterfly to assist me with a fund raiser for Children’s Hospital Boston. I am putting together a EA/TEF awareness book where we will be featuring some of the survivors. The purpose is not only to raise funds for the hospital but for the families who are under emotional and financial strain. The goal is to educate and encourage other families and the community on the severe and scary birth defect. Is their anything you can do to help? I am searching for a contact person at Shutterfly. I have called and sent emails but have had no response!

    Please Help

    THanks!
