Mar 30 2010 I suffered a massive stroke. The day before my 47th. Birthday since then I’ve had 4 more strokes. It was a long road to figure out why and several procedures to “fix” things. It’s been a learning process for me and my doctors.
I love Hoda and have watched her with the today show and have been inspired by her strength and perserverance. Through her adversity and doing it in the publics eye.
I would love to have a signed copy of her book. What a treasure.

Ten years ago my sister was starting her life over because of a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This was 2 years after a bone marrow transplant that saved her life. Two yrs after the transplant she ran a marathon with her donor and her husband (and the three of them finished). Now almost thirteen years after her diagnosis she is a mother to a beautiful 9 yr old.

My 3 year old and I watch Hoda every day and have been disappointed we have entered all of her contests but haven’t won anything yet. Even entered for Everyone Has A Story segment because my mother in law’s dementia keeps threatening our family and I’m trying in spite of almost no time for it to write a book on that while seeking publication of a children’s story and poetry manuscript and raising the little one and her almost 11 year old sister.

My 3 year old and I watch the 4th hour of Today every morning – her almost 11 year old sister joins in when there’s no school and their dad if he’s off work. I’ve been entering every contest Hoda’s had so far and haven’t won yet. I even tried for Everyone Has a Story based on my mother in law’s dementia causing a major grieving process in the family but we miraculously manage to all stay together in spite of that and my own relatives saying it makes us bad parents. I’m trying to write a book on the dementia part of things, but slow going among computer trouble and having hard times getting paid for other writings. A contest win would be a big lift where hope is thin right now.

As a recently retired school counselor, I am needing a swift kick in the pants to transform my own life. I have always wanted to write a nonfiction book myself and from what I have seen on the Today show, if your book can’t motivate me,I am not sure what will!

My 3 year old and I watch the 4th Hour of Today every day. Her almost 11 year old sister watches when school’s off and heir dad when he is off work for the day. We’ve entered every contest that does not require Facebook or a certain age range. I even tried Everyone Has a Story due to my trying in between child rearing, volunteer work at church and everything else to write a book to hopefully someday help other in-laws of dementia patients (such as my own mother in law) see that they are not alone and cope with the situation by writing from my own experience.

I watch kathie lee and hoda RELIGIOUSLY!!! I am obsessed with them!! If for any reason I can’t watch them live, I record it and watch later. I would give anything to meet kathie lee and hoda!! Hoda is such an inspiration on her own from battling breast cancer to writing an inspirational book about others inspiring stories.. She is such a positive influence in my life!! My fourth try at entering and I haven’t seen my comments yet when I look. My 3 year old and I watch every day, sometimes joined by Dad and her older sister if one or the other is off work/school. I’m a struggling writer – only my self published Christian music book and a few articles are floating around right now, while I have poetry and a children’s story currently seeking publication. Those I wrote about being friends with someone who is different than you. I am also trying to write a book based on my experience as the daughter in law of a dementia patient, the story of which I submitted a while back to Everyone Has A Story. I also entered every contest for this book after reading Hoda’s first.

Hoda’s new book sounds so inspiring. I don’t know where she finds the time to do all she does and write another book too! I am delighted that this cancer survivor is living her life to the fullest–she works hard and she plays hard too. Good for Hoda! She is such a fantastic role model for women of all ages. I was sorry that Kathie Lee’s Broadway show closed so soon. She is another great role model. I love the 4th hour of Today!

I can’t wait to read Hoda’s book and to have her sign it would be an awesome bonus! Like many others, I too have a 10 years later story. In 2002, my youngest daughter was born with a severe case of bilateral congenital clubfoot. Her first set of casts to non-surgically correct it began when she was only 2 days old. It’s been a very long journey. At that point I believed by age 10 we would be past this. Although she has had countless casts, multiple Achilles tenotomies, tendon transfer procedures, and a most horrific external fixator, her right foot continues to be problematic. She’s now 10. She runs, dances, rides her bike, and does gymnastics like nobody’s business. She’s a happy crazy 10 year old like I had expected, and she has the only feet I will rub when they hurt, kiss when they ache, and hold to my cheek when I need a little comforting myself. She helps me be thankful for what we have because things could have been so much worse. So many kids fight so many horrible diseases and sickness’, I am thankful for those crooked little tootsies. <3
