I really liked the advice given above for two reasons. One, because I fit into the category of hating to always answer the question myself regarding how I am feeling/doing. Secondly, because I often visit residents in senior citizen homes or at their homes. I feel I have made the same mistake of asking them how they feel and this message opened my eyes to that fact. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely remember to use it.

i fully agree with Pogrebin, a person who is already in trauma or sick shouldn't be taken mercifully, rather they should be encouraged to do well in their treatment & cooperate with doctors. since most of us has the tendency to ask a same question repeatedly though we know the answer already, by doing this we hurt the patient willfully which further takes toll on their health.
