I don’t usually get excited about Mondays, unless there’s a beauty bargain to score. Today I’m in luck because one of my favorite brands is offering a big one: Tarte’s 8th World Wonder, a seven piece beauty kit (a $175 value), is $48.36 today on QVC. The clock is ticking though; after midnight, the price goes up to $58.
I love this deal because the kit comes with everything you need to look amazing for spring, including shimmery pink blush, lipgloss, eyeliner, foundation, mascara, eyeshadow and a luxe powder brush. And you can use the chic makeup bag to hold your new goodies! I may even use it as a cute clutch for a night out with my friends.
If only everything in life could be this practical, and come in such cute packaging!

This year’s Academy Awards show was fabulous as usual and the Oscars well deserved. After watching I couldn’t wait to sit down and reflect on some of my favorite beauty moments.
Michelle Williams always looks chic and sophisticated, but this year I thought she really stood out with an effortless approach. Her simple makeup and pixie haircut made her look like a modern day Audrey. Along with being naturally beautiful Michelle is a pro at keeping it classy for these events.
Jennifer Hudson not only wowed me with her figure but with her hair as well. The styling was just the right amount of drama without over doing it. Jennifer’s skin is also so stunning. She seems so down to earth; I can’t help but adore her.
Scarlett Johansson looked drop-dead-gorgeous as usual but this time she stepped out of the box with a messier hair-do. Certainly a more casual look but in conjunction with her outfit and makeup, she looked both sexy and sophisticated all in one.
Natalie Portman, last but certainly not least, won everyone’s hearts over with her loveliness and humble acceptance speech. I thought her blush was really pretty and gave her a nice glow. She has certainly made an impression on Hollywood with her Black Swan performance.
What was your favorite celeb beauty moment?

I love Valentine’s Day for several different reasons: lots of chocolate, pretty flowers and most importantly, love. But it’s not only meant for those in a relationship. A celebration is always in order, whether you’re staying in with your love or out on the town alongside friends. Today’s the day to spice up your hair and makeup routine and these videos help you achieve a flirty look.
If you have long hair like I do and are tired of limp locks, try a hair knot. It’s easy and elegant–and also helps to lengthen your neck. This video walks you through the steps to perfect the technique.
Soft, sexy waves look great on both short and long hair. And–surprise–you don’t need need a curling iron to get them. Use your flat iron for fresh take on curls.
My favorite part of getting ready is putting on makeup. Here, YouTube sensation Michelle Phan creates a playful look with pretty pinks. (I’ve personally gotten so many compliments on my makeup from emulating her style.)
Happy Valentine’s Day!

LastWednesday, Punxsutawney Phil officially reported that spring is on its way! Whether you believe that a groundhog can actually predict a change in the temperature or not, this year’s guess certainly gives us hope that flowers will soon be in bloom. With winter on its way out, it’s fun to start thinking about lightening up your makeup routine with softer colors and sheerer textures.
When it’s cold and snowy, we tend to shy away from bright pink lipcolor. As spring approaches don’t be afraid to push aside that matte lipstick and opt for a pinky gloss instead. I’m obsessed with Lancôme Juicy Tubes Ultra Shiny Lipgloss in Spring Fling, $18. It’s one of those glosses that’s appropriate for all occasions.
Metallics are also very on-trend this spring, but can easily veer into 70’s disco territory when overdone. Keep your look sophisticated with a light wash of color on your lids. Dot L’Oreal Paris HIP Metallic Duo in Gilded, $8, at the inner corners of your eyes for a subtle highlight.
Purple eye shadow is always spring-friendly and easy to wear. Blend a plummy shade with a neutral champagne to ease into the color. Maybelline New York’s ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Lavender Smokes, $6.25, has four pretty shades.

Being from Boston, I stay true to the New England Patriots, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be kicking back this Sunday to watch the most important football game of the year. Whether you’re cheering on your favorite team or just watching for the fun of it all, Super Bowl events require a different, more casual, beauty preparation. Here are three ways to sport a great look for the big game:
If you’re a fan, represent! Use eye liner to show your pride by wearing team’s colors. Bright yellow and emerald green might look silly as an eye shadow, so keep your makeup from looking garish with a slick of colored eyeliner across the upper lash. Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes, $17, has a fantastic assortment of shades. You’ll feel festive and fellow fans will appreciate the statement.
Any occasion taking place around the television shouldn’t involve too much work. It’s better to go for a more relaxed look and pull back your hair. Hair ties and headbands are effortless. Differentiate this style from your gym ponytail by using a curling iron to create loose waves, or go super-sleek with a flat iron.
Keep your lips simple. Traditional football cuisine can get messy. Rather than constantly wiping and re-applying, wear a gloss that’s easy to smooth on without missing a moment. With a variety to choose from, Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer, $5, works as lipstick and balm in one by both coloring and moisturizing lips.

Winter isn’t over yet! There’s still time to pull out the skis, skates and sleds, but don’t forget to pamper your skin while having fun in the snow. Cold weather can be irritating and those sneaky UV rays will get you even if you’re not feeling the heat. Here are three helpful tips to guard from the frosty climate.
- Use a face moisturizer with a high SPF. Even if you’re not lying on the beach your skin is still susceptible to the nasty effects of the sun. (Scary fact: snow and ice reflect up to 80 percent of the sun’s rays.) Kiehls Cross-Terrain UV Face Protector SPF 50, $25, is designed to fight against harsh weather conditions, making it perfect for outdoor winter activities.
- Don’t forget your lips! We’re all familiar with chapped lips in the winter. Nourish yours with a healing balm that contains SPF. Chapstick Lip Moisturizer with SPF 15, $2, hydrates cracked lips and protects from the sun and minimizes sunburn.
- Have some down time? Treat your skin. When it comes to dry skin, Origins All-Purpose High-Elevation Cream, $25, means business. It was originally created for their high altitude-customers in Denver, Colorado and nurtures weather-worn skin.
