Tony Hawk: RIDE Is Rad!

Hi Ladies! I’m the Associate Art Director here at Ladies’ Home Journal, but I’m also a self-confessed video game and tech junkie. I helped put together the “Gifts For Geeks” section of our 2009 online gift guide and had so much fun that I asked to do a regular column addressing a rising trend—family gaming. So I’m here to review and recommend games that I think you and your family will enjoy. If you have any questions about game ratings, recommendations, system requirements, etc. please let me know. And remember, as the saying goes, “the family that plays together, stays together.”

Do you have a little skater at home or a wanna-be X-Games competitor? If so, Tony Hawk: RIDE (for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii) is the perfect game for them. You could even sneak in a little game play yourself and have a blast as evidenced by these mommy bloggers. Popping ollies and doing 360s does get a little addictive! It comes with a new skateboard-like controller that will get you (or the kids) off the couch to bust some skate tricks. Even if you don’t play video games, this one is actually fun to watch others play.
