Instantly Awesome Photos

Who needs an expensive (and heavy) digital SLR camera when you can get super cool pics with photo filters? The filter snaps onto your phone’s camera lens and makes every photo just a little bit crazy (in a good way). Do you want your kid to look like a super hero zooming through space? Easy with a starburst lens. Want to make your hand look gigantic? Done with a wide angle lens. Check them out at photojojo.com.

Need a Lift? A Better Smelling Workplace

They say the olfactory sense is the strongest of all, why not use it to your advantage with an awesome scent diffuser that plugs right into your computer? Add one drop of oil onto the “X” and the heat from the USB drive will do the rest. The oil burner comes with lavender essential oil, which is great for de-stressing; I also like mandarin oil for a little pick-me-up.
Play with Your Work

As I get older, I crave more and more “cute stuff,” especially if they’re actually useful (maybe so I can feel less guilty for regressing?). When these Star Wars USB drives showed up on my desk, I was elated: you mean they can do work too? These USB drives are as realistic as toys, and they hold quite a bit of stuff — 4 – 16GB of files, music, or movies — so you can transfer what you need between computers. Maybe, just maybe, the spreadsheet you’re working overtime on would feel less onerous if it came from Yoda? You decide. Great for kids too. Of course, there’s no guarantee homework gets done faster!

Text for Free!
January 5, 2010 at 3:16 pm , by yyang

Have a cell phone and want to text for free? Or maybe more likely, have a teen who’s running up your phone bill with her texting addiction? We found a solution for either problem: Nimbuzz.com. Just download the mobile program to your phone, bring up contacts from anywhere (MSN, Skype, Yahoo, AIM), and start texting. Make sure you have a flat-rate data plan, and text at a spot with free Wi-Fi (like a Barnes & Noble’s or Panera Bread) to really save money. The site is still free (for now, we’re guessing), so check it out!
