Have you ever heard of a cake pop? If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat (literally!). If you have, then you’re probably already familiar with the popular baking blog Bakerella, run by Atlanta-based baker Angie Dudley. It was only a couple of years ago when she started putting cake balls—a mixture of cake and frosting, which is then covered in candy coating—on lollipop sticks, turning them into cake pops. Angie has since developed numerous ideas for molding the cake pops into different shapes and designs, from Halloween themed, to mini wedding cakes, and even Sesame Street characters.
Want to try your hand at making cake pops? It’s easier than it looks, and Angie’s new book Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats explains the process step-by-step with photo guides. Take a look at more cake pops at Bakerella.com and tell us which ones you want to try, and pick up Cake Pops for even more fun ideas!
What makes me a lady: Putting others needs before my own and the desire to make people happy.
Favorite guilty pleasure: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, cold. Dulce de leche gelato. Brown sugar by the spoonful. Do I have to pick just one?
Three things on my life list: 1. Vacation in Greece. 2. Learn to snow ski. 3. Go on a horseback riding adventure vacation somewhere majestic.
If I could have a superpower, it would be: Either teleportation, the ability to freeze time, or to move at supersonic speed. Anything to be more productive. But the curious side of me would probably pick invisibility.
Ladies I admire: The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, for her calm and gracious demeanor and uncanny ability to recite movie lines. My friend Julie for her style and creativity. My friend Rosa for being one of the hardest working women I know. But, mostly my mom for her strength, humor and devotion.
