Best Red Carpet Moments: Part 2 – Movies
January 15, 2010 at 10:02 am , by Gabrielle Porcaro
Continued from yesterday…here is my favorite red carpet moments for the woman in the movie categories…
Best Actress in Drama- Movies

Emily Blunt , The Young Victoria
Emily always looks beautiful on the red carpet. The eye catching blue Calvin Klein dress she wore to the Oscars in 2007 certainly stood out. I loved how she kept it minimal by not wearing a necklace. She let the dress speak for itself.

Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side and The Proposal
Sandra’s look at last years Golden Globe awards was magnificent. I thought the pairing of a pale pink asymmetrical dress (Dior) with turquoise and gold jewelry and a matching turquoise clutch was fabulous.

Helen Mirren, The Last Station
Always age appropriate, Dame Helen, made an excellent choice with this Christian Lacroix dress for the 2004 Oscars, the year she won for her role in The Queen.

Carey Mulligan, An Education
With her fashion forward style choices, I can’t wait to see what Carey will be wearing on Sunday. I loved her look at the LA premiere of An Education – a strapless, floral Lanvin dress.

Gabourey Sidibe, Precious
A new comer to acting and red carpets, Gabourey has had an amazing year. She knows how to show off her curvy shape and the David Meister dress she wore for her film’s Cannes premiere, truly flattered her figure.

Best Red Carpet Moments: Part 1- TV
January 14, 2010 at 10:38 am , by Gabrielle Porcaro
The Golden Globes are this Sunday and there are 18 beautiful women nominated in the Best Actress category for movies and television (Sandra and Meryl are nominated twice). In preparation, I’ve chosen my favorite red carpet moments for all the lovely ladies.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical
Toni Collette, United States of Tara
Nominated for her role as a woman with multiple personalities, Toni followed her glamorous side at last year’s Emmy’s with this red embroidered organza strapless Monique Lhuillier gown.
Courtney Cox, Cougar Town
The sexy black plunging Dior dress that Courtney wore to the 2003 Golden Globes would be perfect if she was a real cougar and not married to David Arquette.

Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
Nominated for her role as Carmela Soprano in 2007, Edie’s Randi Rahm black sheath with floral appliqué didn’t land her on the best-dressed list but I thought she looked fabulous!

Tina Fey, 30 Rock
Funny lady Tina chose a flattering black David Meister dress to the Emmy awards in 2008.

Lea Michele, Glee
Lea seems to opt for fun, short dresses for special events. I loved the House of Lavande cherry red dress she wore to last week’s People’s Choice Awards.
