It’s my favorite time of the year — award season! Sunday’s Golden Globes celebrated the best of 2010′s movies and television. Yes of course there were the actual big winners (Social Network, Glee, Boardwalk Empire) but here are my personal winners:
My winner for best dressed is… Olivia Wilde in Marchesa. She looked gorgeous and I especially loved her unexpected shoe choice of gold jeweled Christian Louboutin booties. Her bangs were also perfect, which leads me to…
Most in need of a bang trim… Sandra Bullock. I really wanted to crawl through the screen, take a scissor to them and thin them out.
Most used hue of the night… Green. Mila Kunis in Vera Wang, Catherine Zeta-Jones in Monique L’huillier and Angelina in Versace all chose green gowns. It also happened to be the color of the JETS too, so truly the color of the entire night! (Go JETS!)
Best Pee-wee Herman look a like… Robert Downey, Jr. A grey suit with a red tie — I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. Just an observation.
The “is that my grandma’s table cloth from the 70s” winner is… Michelle Williams. She was so good in Blue Valentine and is so pretty that she totally pulls off the Mia Farrow circa Rosemary’s Baby pixie hair cut. I just wish she went for a sleeker, more modern dress.
Best “who is that?” moment… Emma Stone. Nominated for Easy A, ES showed off her newish blonde hair (currently dyed for her role in Spider-Man). I liked her minimal look of a sexy Calvin Klein Collection peach dress with no accessories and natural makeup.
The “will you accept this rose?” award… Natalie Portman. Yes I was writing this while I was watching The Bachelor but I thought the newly pregnant Natalie looked adorably glowing in Victor & Rolf.
She could look hot in a garbage bag winner is… Sofia Vergara. Also loved that she tweeted “I already have 2 golden globes!” that night.
The “they make it look so easy” award goes to… hot guys. Seriously, all they have to do is put on a tux or suit and bam! They look gooooood. Examples include: Robert Pattinson (in spite of his ginger hair color), Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling and John Hamm. Double points for R Patz and J Hamm who donned navy.
Most emphasized body part… shoulders. Whether they were covered and elongated or exposed there was a lot of attention drawn to them. There were a ton of asymmetrical dresses; some good (Mila Kunis) and one I personally thought was horrid (Julianne Moore, what were you hiding in there!). Claire Danes showed her shoulders off in a halter dresses. Anne Hathaway rocked some shoulder pad action which I hated at first but after staring at it for a while I kind of like (yes, I know shocking!). Runner up for most emphasized body part: the lower back. See Emma Stone, Eva Longoria, Clare Danes and Anne Hathaway.
Winner for the “Really!?” award… Tina Fey. Really Tina!? Again with the bad fashion choice… Really!? Someone needs to put an end to the madness! Really!?
The person I most want to force feed a cheeseburger to… January Jones. Her entire look was awesome and I loved the Versace dress, but that girl looks like she hasn’t eaten in weeks. Runners up include: Megan Fox and Clare Danes.
So, do you agree or disagree with me? Let’s discuss…
