We’re psyched to tell you about a can’t-miss, one-day event that’s happening this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in theaters across the country. The event was inspired by the amazing stories from Half the Sky by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, and one of our favorite do-good organizations, CARE, helped put it together. You’ll even see a special guest star who’s very close to our hearts (Sally Lee, our fabulous do-gooder- and editor-in-chief)!
Half the Sky will feature musical performances, celebrity commentary and the world premiere of “Woineshet,” a short film by Marisa Tomei and Lisa Leone. You’ll also see appearances by India.Arie, Maria Bello, Diane Birch, Michael Franti, Dr. Helene Gayle, Angelique Kidjo, Nicholas Kristof, and Sarah, Duchess of York.
Celebrate International Women’s Day and get inspired to help women and girls everywhere turn oppression into opportunity. Learn more about Half the Sky and buy tickets to a showing in a theater near you!
