What is the best way to keep up with the latest trends or find out about the experimental looks that are up and coming? Big heavy fashion mags like Vogue? Lighter fare like WWD? E-newsletters, twitter, blogs? – Danielle D
Although I consume them all, I don’t expect someone not in the industry to be able to or have the time! If you want to see gorgeous interpretations of the top trends and the must-have designer pieces of the season – pick up a fashion magazine.
Of course, you should check out LHJ for real interpretations of the season’s trends. We like to mix inspirational pieces with everyday affordable ones. For example: our March floral story includes both a fashion-forward bold mini dress from Tibi and a floral button up from the Gap.
Websites are the best way to see great photos of stylish people. I am constantly checking websites and trying to translate looks I like in to my wardrobe. My favorites are: The Satorialist, Garance Dore, Style Sightings, and Face Hunter.
If you are looking for fashion industry news, pick up WWD or follow them and other insiders on twitter. Twitter is a great way to get a glimpse into the everyday lives of industry insiders. My must follow list: LHJ Fashion Girl (THAT’S ME), LHJ Fashion Lady, NineWestPRGals, DKNY PR Girl, Robert Duffy, Rachel Roy and Tory Burch.
Also twice a year during fashion week, check out Style.com for a view of the runway shows. Fall 2010 fashion shows just started last week… yes us “insiders” are on to next fall before spring has even begun!
