We sure hope that the Oscar after parties served plenty of food, because a few red carpet show-stoppers were eating for two! While all of the mommies-to-be looked ravishing on Sunday evening, we fell in love with Olivia Wilde’s sharp cat eye and dewy skin (though she does have that whole “pregnancy glow” home-court advantage).Celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis drew inspiration from the 60′s when creating this classic French look, which makes the eye appear bigger and bolder regardless of the shape and size of the lid.
Here’s how to get her look.
As a Revlon Global Brand Ambassador, Olivia rocked the affordable drugstore brand from start to finish. Inglessis began by smoothing Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer all over Olivia’s face and neck, followed by Revlon PhotoReady Makeup in Nude. She skipped blush, opting for an illuminator instead for a smoother look. Next she used Revlon ColorStay Shadow Links in Taupe to create a darker canvas the liner, dusting the shadow from Olivia’s lash line to her eyelid crease. She then used Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black to create the dramatic cat eye. To achieve an even swipe like you see here, you have to work very quickly — the slower your hand, the shakier the application when it comes to liquid liner. She skipped the false lashes and opted for a swipe of classic black. Olivia’s nude lip was created by using a combination of Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Complex (an LHJ editor favorite) and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Cognito.

When we spotted Rose McIver’s stunning look from the LA premiere of “The Truth About Emanuel,” visions of New Year’s Eve danced in our heads. Her gorgeous, festive crown braid and messy updo paired with a heavily lined upper lash line, doll lashes, and a statement lip is exactly what we hope to be sporting when 2014 rolls in.
To get Rose’s look, start with a primer (we love Hourglass’ Veil Mineral primer) and a medium-coverage tinted moisturizer with a dewy finish (try Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup ). Cover your eyelids and under your brow bone with a sheer, peachy eyeshadow such as Nars’ Single Eye Shadow in “Night Star” and line your upper lash line with liquid eyeliner. Then, coat lashes with mascara. Next highlight your cheekbones, inner eye, and Cupid’s bow with an illuminating powder such as Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powder in “Ethereal.” Finally, line your lips and fill them in with a pop of pinky-red color such as Sephora Collection’s Lip Last in “Daring Pink.”
