Just in case you needed a good deed to justify your beauty shopping, the teams at QVC and CEW (Cosmetics Executive Women) are partnering for the Beauty with Benefits campaign to raise funds for Cancer and Careers.
Cancer and Careers empowers, educates, and provides essential tools to people with cancer so they can thrive in the workplace.
The campaign features a PSA by actress Tiffani Thiessen and a two-hour fundraiser on QVC on Thursday, April 17th at 8pm.
“Cancer in the workplace is so prevalent yet it’s an issue that rarely gets discussed,” said Thiessen. “I am excited to work with QVC and CEW to support such a worthy cause. I love that I get to use a fun thing like makeup to shed light on such a powerful message.”
During the two-hour live event viewers will be able to shop products from 19 prestige beauty brands including Fresh, bareMinerals, Philosophy, and more. (The items will also be available online)
For this initiative, 80 percent of the purchase price of donated merchandise will benefit Cancer and Careers, a charitable program established by the Cosmetic Executive Women foundation.

As it turns out, orange isn’t only the new black; it’s also the new red — as we see here on Pretty Little Liars starlet, Shay Mitchell, in New York City earlier this month. We’ve seen a lot of comfy-progressive fashion trends popping up this spring that we’re ecstatic about, such as slip-on-sneakers and kitten heels taking the place of ever-present strappy sandals and stilettos. But just because things have taken a more casual turn in the wardrobe department doesn’t mean that you have to shy away from your bold beauty tendencies.
The electric orange lips that dominated the spring runways inspired a welcomed break in the classic nude, pink, and red lips that we typically see on the red carpet. Shay’s coral-orange shade is the perfect way to ease into the trend, because the hue still carries some pink pigment. To create a similar look, we recommend using Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Vibrant Mandarin. Take another beauty cue from Shay and go easy on your eyes and cheeks — an otherwise low-key aesthetic will help you pull off this daunting beauty trend without looking like you’re trying too hard. We’ll show you how to apply such a bold lipstick color in this step-by-step video!

Cobie Smulders stunned at The LEGO Movie Premiere in Los Angeles last weekend with an all-over rosy glow and piece-y short hair. Since she plays one of the most down-to-earth chicks on television (her How I Met Your Mother character prefers Scotch to champagne and Netflix to date night), we’re not surprised by Cobie’s ability to infuse a subtle edginess to her natural girl-next-door vibe.
Here’s how to get her look:
Start by smoothing on a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer, followed by concealer to brighten up dark under-eye circles and hide blemishes. Lightly dust a neutral matte eyeshadow (try this one by NYX Cosmetics) from your lash line up to your brow bone or leave your lids completely bare. Next, swipe one coat of clear or brown mascara over your lashes for subtle definition. To get the same all-over rosiness that you see on Cobie, you’ll want to pick up a stain that can be used on your lips and your cheeks (we recommend this one by Stila in Cherry Crush). To flush your cheeks, dab three pea-sized dots where you would apply a powder blush, starting at your apples and continuing upward toward your temples, blending gently with your fingers. Next, apply the stain evenly across your pout. If you prefer to use two different stains, try Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Courture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain in Rose Vinyl for your lips. To up your glow-factor, dust an illuminating powder down the bridge of your nose and over the stain on your now-rosy cheeks.

Natalie Zea was bold and beautiful last week at the 2013 TCA Winter Press Tour FOX All-Star Party. We love her entire romantic look but what stands out for us most is her rose gold smoky eye; it’s perfect for those who are interested in experimenting with a classic smokey eye but typically shy away from dark makeup.
Here’s how to get Natalie’s look: After applying your usual primer and foundation, go the extra mile and pat on an eye shadow primer from your lash line to your brow bone (try Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base – it’s lightweight but powerful formula will keep your shadow in place for hours). This extra dose of primer will keep your gorgeous eye makeup in place all day. Next select your eye shadow palette – you’ll want it to range from a pale pink shimmer to a deep plum matte (we recommend Urban Decay’s new Naked 3 palette , which is rose gold specific).
Begin by using a light eyeshadow such as Urban Decay’s “Dust;” blend this shadow from your lash line all the way up to your brow bone. Next, cover your eye lid only in a medium rose shade such as Urban Decay’s “Buzz”. Use and angled brush to smudge that same color along your lower lash line. Finally, blend a dark reddish tint such as Urban Decay’s “Darkside” into your eyelid crease and blend any lines. Finish your upper lash line with a swipe of liquid eyeliner. The, use highlighter to brighten the inner corners of your eyes. Swipe on some mascara (top and bottom lashes!) and you’re good to go!

At the Hollywood premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Monday, New Zealand-born actress, Rose McIver, looked luminous. The 25-year-old currently stars as Tinkerbell in the ABC series Once Upon a Time. Much like her character, Rose looked ethereal and other-wordly with fresh, dewy skin, highlighted cheekbones, and a gradual smoky cat eye.
To achieve her look, prep skin with primer and medium-coverage foundation. The, use a creme blush on the apples of your cheeks–we love Stila’s convertible color. Next sweep a highlighting powder over the tops of your cheekbones, in the inner corners of your eye, and on your cupid’s bow. For lips, use a pinky-nude shade and slick on a light coating of gloss. To learn how to get Rose’s smoky eye look, check out his easy, step-by-step video tutorial.

JLaw wasn’t the only lady burning up the red carpet at the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere. Cast newcomer Jena Malone’s luminous skin, bold lip, and cat-eye had us swooning. Not to mention, she’s rocking her pixie cut with a retro edge! While traditional beauty rules would warn against trying a statement lip and eye on the same night, Jena totally crushes that convention by keeping the rest of her look decidedly fresh and low key. To get her look, start with a luminizing primer such as Smashbox Photo Finish and a medium-coverage foundation such as Armani Luminous Silk. Highlight your cheekbones with a luminizer such as The Balm’s Mary-Loumanizer. To master Jena’s eye and lip looks, use these easy tutorials:
