America’s sweetheart looked pretty and polished at the premiere of her new movie Gravity. We adore everything about this look: bold red lips, full brows, glowing skin, and perfectly tousled waves. And that gown? To die for. Sandy definitely knows what works for her! But even we mere mortals can pull of her classic look. Just follow our easy steps below.
First apply moisturizer (with SPF!) and a little under-eye concealer. Smooth foundation all over your face and add a rosy cream blush to just the apples of your cheeks. Keep your eye makeup simple: a thin line of black or dark brown eyeliner and two coats of black mascara. If your brows are sparse, fill them in with a brow pencil, using short strokes. Brush them with a spoolie and then set with clear gel for an of-the-moment full look. (Need more detailed eyebrow-grooming tips? Click here.) Complete your makeup with classic red lips. Our step-by-step video guide will help you get the perfect pucker. If you have texture in your hair, keep it natural. Tame frizz with a dab of styling cream and touch up straggly pieces with a curling wand. Throw on your fave LBD, and you’ll look just as as red-carpet-ready as Sandra.

Well, hello there, Keri Russell! We saw this eye makeup look all over the runways at Fashion Week, and now the gorgeous television star proves you can in fact rock blue eyeshadow off the catwalk—and not look like you’re going to an ’80s dance party. Want to try it for yourself? We’ll show you how below.
The icy blue makeup makes Keri’s green eyes really pop. But you don’t need green eyes to pull off the fun look. Just make sure you stick to shades of cobalt and teal; pastel blue and aqua look too childish. (Our beauty director loves this eyeshadow quad from L’Oreal.) First, apply a flesh-toned eyeshadow base and then the blue shadow on top. Use either a blue or black eyeliner and black mascara. The most important step in recreating this look is to keep your other makeup simple. Take note of the rest of Keri’s makeup: dewey skin, perfectly groomed brows, and a totally-natural lip color.
Throw on a lace cami, structured blazer, and leather jeggings like Keri did, and you’ve got yourself an edgy-glam date-night look.

Could Olivia Wilde be any more stunning? The actress flaunted a matte red pout, ombre waves, and subtle shimmery eyes—all big trends this season—at the London premiere of Rush. Her glam hair and makeup combo is a foolproof way to transition from summer to fall. Learn how to recreate the look below.
The key to making red lipstick work is to keep the rest of your makeup simple. Forgot about heavy eye makeup or intense blush and stick to a little concealer and foundation. Be sure to pick out the right lipstick for your skin tone. Women with fair skin should do a coral red while medium skin tones can go for a true red or pinkish red. If you have dark skin, try a burgundy shade. Test out the color on your lips, not your hand. (Tip: Head to a makeup counter or Sephora to try the color before you buy it.)
To get a red lip with staying power, line and fill in your lips with a lip liner that matches your natural lip color. Use a small lip brush to apply the lipstick. Blot your lips with a tissue. Then dust them with translucent powder to help set the color and make it last. Apply one more coat of lipstick to intensify the color. Press your lips together to complete your totally irresistible (and kissable!) look.

We’re psyched for fall but a little sad to see summer go, so to celebrate the unofficial last weekend of the season, we’re sharing three of our favorite beach beauty trends. Spotted on Pinterest, these gorgeous hairstyles and makeup looks have us relishing summer and all its beachy goodness. Head over to the bloggers’ sites to try these chic looks for yourself over Labor Day. (You can bet we will!)
We adore blogger Julia’s pretty flower crown, although what we really love here is her natural makeup look. Her creamy skin, slight flush, and subtle glossy lips are perfection. Remember ladies: Less is always more.
We can’t think of a better summer hairstyle than the braid. With these 33 trendy variations on the classic, you can totally add one (or two or three) to your hairstyle to-do list this autumn.
Head scarves are the ideal hair accessory for the beach, but you can just as easily wear them while walking around the farmers’ market in the fall. Knot one on for a look that’s effortlessly fab.

As sad as we are to see summer go, we are so ready to start incorporating fall looks into our beauty routine. Check out our three fave of-the-moment styles from Fashion Week 2013—and try out the fun trends for yourself!
Metallics are huge for fall, and nail polish is no exception. Shiny gold, silver, or bronze nail polish is a great way to transition your look between seasons. We like OPI’s iridescent shade “Peace & Love & OPI” (beyondpolish.com, $7). For more must-have nail polish colors, click here.
2. A Luminous Glow
We’ve seen the dewey look time and time again, but this season it’s all about a luminous glow. Get the look with a slightly shimmery cream highlighter, such as this cult classic from Nars. After putting on blush, gently blend the highlighter across the tops of your cheeks to really make your cheekbones pop. Need more help? See how to highlight and contour your face with this easy step-by-step video.
3. Blue Eyeshadow
If you couldn’t tell by the first two images, blue-lined lids are a major do this fall. We promise you won’t look like you’re stuck in the ’80s! The key is to focus on just the lower lash line (like this model did) or just the upper lash line (as shown above). Go with a bold cobalt liner or an icy blue cream shadow. Keep the rest of your look super simple: no bright blush and definitely no lipstick. Swipe on clear mascara, and you’re good to go.

How absolutely stunning is Kerry Washington at this red carpet event? We’re obsessed with every part of her look—the flushed cheeks, the strawberry-pink pout, the voluptuous eyelashes, and that totally on-trend top knot. The Scandal star is well on her way to becoming a fashion and beauty icon. Read on to learn how to recreate Kerry’s gorgeous hair and makeup at home.
Defined cheekbones like Kerry’s start with the right base. (This lightweight, matte foundation from CoverGirl is perfect for summer.) After you’ve applied foundation evenly all over your face, trace translucent loose powder across your cheekbones with a puff or fluffy powder brush. Then softly brush bronzer onto your face, starting mid-cheek and moving out toward your ear and below your cheekbones. Brush a little more translucent powder onto your cheeks to make sure the bronzer looks subtle and natural. Lastly, apply your blush onto the apples of your cheeks (smile to make them pop!) for a fresh, flirty look. Finish with fuschia lipstick and a few coats of black mascara.
And don’t forget about your hair! Top knots are an easy solution for staying cool and looking chic in the August heat and humidity. See how to do a bun as fab as Kerry’s in this step-by-step video.
