Ladies’ Home Journal had the pleasure of meeting Sofia Vergara this morning at the Standard East Village where she presented her new home line for Kmart. The stunning actress (seriously, she really is that pretty in person!) sat on a bed covered in her affordable — and beautiful — bedding and spoke about the collection. She seemed excited to offer such a well- priced line to her fans (this comforter, pillow sham, and bedskirt set is on sale for $59.99 right now) and she said that it was important to her to make sure the line was easy to care for as well.
We asked her which bedding collection Gloria (her character on ABC’s Modern Family) would choose and she said that the show’s set designers had actually just brought 2 collections to the set and they were going to be used in future episodes. So, which bedding should you watch for in the Delgado-Pritchett bedroom? The warm brown one she favored at today’s presentation and the rich plum group that we were also loving. When asked if they were “Jay-approved” she replied, “Oh. We don’t ask him!” in her very Gloria-esque way.
As for everything-else-Sofia-at-Kmart, we couldn’t get enough of how her skinny jeans looked on all the publicists at this morning’s event. Try the teal ones or basic black for a sexy Sofia look.

Music. I’ve got everything from The Civil Wars to Prince on my playlist. I’m a mood person; what I play depends on how I feel.
Alarm. My phone helps me wake up every morning.
ESPN App. I have to stay up-to-date on my Kansas State teams.
Travel App. Australian Wildlife. I downloaded it for my 16-hour plane ride to Australia recently. I thought, “Oh, I can study the wildlife on my way there!”
Who I Follow on Twitter. Three hundred and something people, including Octavia Spencer from The Help. Love her.
Favorite Photo. A crowd shot at a Kansas State University basketball game with Fizbo, the clown my character sometimes plays, in the middle. I went to KSU and somebody always takes that Fizbo head to the home games.
App for When I’m Bored. Real Drums. I’m a drummer so this lets me play drums with my fingers on the iPhone.
Most Surprising Contact. James Van Der Beek, from Dawson’s Creek. We met through mutual friends. It’s kind of funny to scroll through your contact list and see, “James So-and-So, James So-and-So,” and then, “James Van Der Beek.”
Game. I’m addicted to Amazing Breaker. Rico Rodriguez — he plays Manny on the show — likes it too. I’m 40 and I have the same apps as a 13-year-old.

Ahhh. Nothing like the sweet smell of a new Fall season chock full of shows. Welcoming back old friends, making new ones, the excitement, the anticipation…come to think of it, this must be how some people feel about school, or sports—but in any event, it doesn’t get much better than this.
My television viewing behavior is different than most, because I usually watch shows online and I rarely watch in real time. This makes it difficult to stumble upon a new show. I really have to seek it out, either because I’ve read about it or someone has told me that I have to see it. And because I have so many shows that I am committed to (a commitment I take very seriously), I have to be very discerning about adding a new one to the roster. That’s why this fall’s fresh batch of programming has really thrown me for a loop. There are so many great shows!
If you haven’t already, you MUST check out Glee (not your daughter’s High School Musical), Modern Family (I challenge you not to laugh out loud) and Flash Forward (super suspenseful and addictive). And if you’re not above second chances, you should catch up on the new season of Parks and Recreation. They really came back swinging this season.
By now, we’ve seen a few episodes of the new season and I certainly have my favorites, but I am dying to know which shows have won you over (and a spot in your DVR). What new shows have you discovered? What returning shows are you most excited about?
