Hey, rule breakers, what if we told you you can make your favorite white (or any light color!) pants fall and winter appropriate? Happy? We thought so! The key is to go cozy and seasonal with your other items–think chunky sweaters, jewel tones, and scarves. The contrast of the light pant with darker extras makes a big impact even though you’re really working with basic pieces. Plus, wearing your white or light bottoms into the chillier months means giving your wardrobe a major extension.

Fashion week (really it’s fashion month) is in full swing here in NYC and while there are always plenty of wild outfits at the tents in Lincoln Center, we think sometimes it’s the simple looks that are the chicest of them all. Take, for example, this outfit full of gorgeous, well-made basics–topped with a luxe, leopard-print coat. Statement outerwear is a key trend for fall and since leopard-print is always in, it’s a great version to invest in.

Ah, summer, we hardly knew thee. The months flew by and now we’re ready to dig in our vacationing heels for one last hurrah this Labor Day. Whether you’re planning to doze in the sunshine or explore a new locale we thought you could use a multi-tasking dress to make packing that much easier. For a BBQ, dress the frock down with casual accessories in neutral tones. A boardwalk visit requires chic flats, and on a chilly, seaside night simply remove the belt from the dress and toss on a colorful sweater. If you’re heading out for a city soiree, keep your accessories luxe and classic.

I didn’t get much sleep last night. No, I wasn’t out late—just couldn’t fall asleep. I found myself watching Sex and the City episodes at 2am (from my least favorite season, when SJP was pregnant). Anyway, it was a struggle to get out of bed this morning, let alone get dressed. I tried several outfits—a skirt, a dress—but wasn’t feeling it. With the clock ticking towards my 9am appointment, I grabbed my go-to outfit! Here it is. Quite simple really!
American Eagle pintuck boyfriend shirt: I am not a huge fan of button-ups but this shirt is so comfy and has some shape to it. I like to wear it open with an Old Navy tank underneath. When it’s buttoned all the way up, I feel so corporate and boxy- which is why I usually don’t where them.
Uniqlo skinny jeans: Half my jeans are Uniqlo!
I’m not staying this outfit is crazy unique or revolutionary but it’s classic and easy. So what’s your go-to look?
