If there’s one key piece for spring it’s the perfect jacket. While we opt for a trench at work and statement toppers for our nights out, most days we’re living in a military-inspired jacket like this one. It works as a neutral and plays nicely with dressy, sequin pieces and drapey tees alike. We couldn’t resist partnering this version with on-trend boyfriend jeans and bright heels.

We’ve noticed a new silhouette on the block when it comes to outerwear. The cocoon coat was all over fashion week and it’s slowing winding its way into our favorite fast-fashion stores as well. While the silhouette has been on the scene since Balenciaga debuted it in 1957, it’s recently been sidelined by body-hugging car coats and edgy moto jackets. We love the cocoon coat because it’s easy to wear. Plus, it exudes a downtown-cool-girl sense of style. The newest versions for spring come in candy-colored pinks, dusty rose, sky blue, and ivory hues. We’d pair this blue one with a white and black ensemble and some chic blush accessories.

Let’s all agree to just ignore the cold and lingering snow, shall we? We’re focusing our energies on bright new separates, perfectly worn-in denim, and airy accessories. If by any chance you are still dusted in snow (like us, le sigh) pair this bright jacket with a camel or white turtleneck until temperatures warm up.

As unexpected color combinations go, camel and gray has to be one of my favorites. Pairing cool gray and buttery camel is a study in opposites that really attract. In this particular look you also get the benefit of a dress that can be styled for all seasons. Here we’ve paired it with a button-up and boots for cold weather. For spring, ditch the tights and boots in favor of a pair of chic, pastel heels and a breezy scarf around your neck.

Whether you’re headed home from the holidays, leaving on a vacation, or skipping town for New Year’s Eve, we believe dressing to go to the airport should involve more than a track suit and sneakers. Bare with us–you see, by dressing in a casual-yet-stylish way, you’re actually multi-tasking. You’ll be able to pack more in your carry-on since you’re wearing one full outfit and you’ll look fabulous in case you land and head straight to an event. The key to this look is simple pieces you can layer and hard-working accessories like a cashmere scarf for chilly planes, a big bag for electronics and essentials, and a watch to keep an eye on your departure time.

Crop tops aren’t just for 20-something festival-goers anymore. They’ve been all over the runways this year, and, believe it or not, you can wear them, too! The key to pulling one off is to keep the rest of your look simple and refined. If you’re going to play peekaboo with your tummy, be sure to cover your cleavage. This knitted crochet crop top does the trick. Pair it with a high-waisted knee-length pencil skirt, like this gorgeous floral one from Zara, so only a sliver of your stomach shows through. The look is super flirty, yet still classy and totally on-trend. Change up your accessories to take your outfit from day to night. A versatile crossbody bag and flat sandals are perfect for daytime, while gold spiked bracelets, a hot pink clutch, and strappy high heels give you just enough edge for a night on the town.

We’ve seen a lot of tribal-inspired fashion in 2013, and this super versatile animal-print shift dress from ASOS is an easy way to incorporate the style it into your own wardrobe. Wear it to work with a crisp white blazer and silver accents, like these sparkly earrings, classic wristwatch, and studded suede loafers. Pair it with natural makeup for a tasteful but trendy look. Heading out for a night on the town? Go for the gold with spiky gladiator heels (which are actually quite comfortable because of the extra ankle strap) and dainty drop earrings. We love adding the hot pink clutch for an unexpected pop of color. Finish your going-out look by applying bold fuchsia lipstick and a touch of shimmery bronzer.
