We never thought we’d say this, but we are loving sneakers these days — and not just for clocking time at the gym. If you ask us, it’s about time women treated their feet to a comfortable interlude between heels for work and heels for cocktails, it’s nice to level out. Plus, these sneaks are anything but dumpy — they come in every fabric and color imaginable and they’re just begging to paired with cuffed-jean or straight-leg pant. Here are some of our favorites:

When I read an article this weekend about Nike’s limited-edition collection of Air Force 1 sneakers designed for each of New York City’s 5 boroughs, I immediately wanted a pair. (Manhattan, of course—everyone knows I rarely leave the island!) Yes, me: The girl who plans her outfits around her shoes; the girl whose mouth waters at the sight of a pair of Prada platform cut-out booties; the girl who likes to brag about being able to run in heels… is also a sneaker nut!
Starting my career in men’s fashion made me a bit of an “expert” in the field. I don’t buy tons of pairs and probably wear sneakers once a month (not counting the gym) but I have a real admiration for them and always notice a cool pair of sneakers when I see them—mostly on guys, but gals too. Want to up your sneaker cool-factor? Here are some great casual options for the ladies.
Vans Authentics are classic—in fact they haven’t changed since 1966. They come in lots of colors and look super cute with shorts!
PF Flyers make really cute hi and low tops. The sole is one of cushiest I’ve ever slipped my foot into! I saw my friend in these gray pair and got jealous.
Converse are always a go-to for me. I have probably about 10 pairs (my favorites being my pink hi-tops). Their (PRODUCT) RED Paint Swatch sneaks are really cool and different—and a portion of the purchase goes to charity!
These Nike Dunks are a great fun color combo for the ladies. They’re slimmer and not as bulky as the men’s version.
I love these Adidas Top Ten Hi Sleeks but I’m definitely not cool enough to rock them. Are you?!?
