One Hero, Two Books: Captain "Sully" Sullenberger

If you were intrigued last winter by the story of the US Airways pilot who miraculously landed a crippled airplane in the middle of the icy Hudson River in New York City, sparing the lives of everyone on board, you might want to check out these two new books:
Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters, an autobiography by Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, compellingly written with the help of Wall Street Journal reporter Jeffrey Zaslow (William Morrow). This book recounts the pilot's training and background and provides a glimpse into the mind-set of the man who engineered this remarkable feat.
Fly by Wire: The Geese, the Glide, and the Miracle on the Hudson by William Langewiesche (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux). This journalistic account deconstructs the incident and provides an inside look at the fascinating world of modern aviation.
