Sleepless in Seattle

If you haven't seen Sleepless in Seattle, you're missing out. It's one of my all-time favorite chick flicks, and it never lets me down. The story centers on the "will they, won't they" relationship of Annie Reed (Meg Ryan), a Baltimore-based journalist, and Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks), an architect living in Seattle who is still mourning the death of his young wife. After his 8-year-old son Jonah tells a call-in radio show host that his father needs a new wife, it seems every woman in America wants to be that person -- including newly engaged Annie. Through an odd combination of broom-closet phone calls, bad dates, private investigators, and near run-ins, both Sam and Annie discover what they're really looking for.

This film will restore your faith in the magnetic pull of true love. And who knows -- you might even find yourself tempted to write to a stranger in Seattle on the off-chance he's your soul mate.
