OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Medical degree: Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine at the University of Illinois, 1982.

Postdoctoral training: Internship in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago; residency in obstetrics and gynecology, Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago.

Bio: Dr. Streicher is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgeons, and the North American Menopause Society. Her clinical interests include all aspects of gynecology, but Dr. Streicher has a particular interest and expertise in menopause, minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic hysterectomy, and alternatives to hysterectomy.

Considered a thought leader in her field, Dr. Streicher has appeared in numerous national and local media outlets discussing all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. She was a member of the WBBM Health Team with weekly appearances and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Dr. Oz Show, the Today Show, and Good Morning America, as well as many other television and radio shows. Castle Connolly and Chicago magazine have consistently recognized her as one of the "Top Doctors" in Chicago. She contributes articles and has been interviewed for many magazines and newspapers and is also a medical correspondent for ABC News. Her column, "Ask the Ob-Gyn," appeared weekly in the Chicago Sun-Times. Her book, The Essential Guide to Hysterectomy, was published in 2004 and remains the number one book on hysterectomy on Amazon.com.
