I got a second opinion on my surgery from a plastic surgeon, who spotted what he thought might be a second skin cancer near the one that had just been diagnosed. Dr. Kriegel did a biopsy on that spot, too, and it turned out to be a basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer (about 2.8 million cases in the U.S. each year).
