Alison Ilg, 48, a public relations consultant, jump-starts her morning with a brisk 15- to 30-minute walk with her two teenage daughters in Marietta, Georgia: "It's energizing to be out in the sunshine. And it helps me organize my thoughts and plans for the day. I just feel better if I have exercised and showered before I sit at my desk."
LeAura Alderson, 51, and her family in Walkertown, North Carolina, sneak in a bike ride in the evening: "My husband, two teens, and I ride around the neighborhood for 20 minutes after dinner," says the co-author/creator of My Gym Trainer fitness books. "Often we drag our feet getting off the sofa or away from the computer. But every single time we come back smiling. And the next morning we wake up feeling fresher."
