Like a lizard that needs to shed its outer layer, our postwinter (read: dry and lackluster) skin is essentially begging that we do the same. "In order to remove that old tired skin, you must exfoliate first, then moisturize," says celebrity hair-and-makeup-artist Rita Ragone of Astor Place Hair in New York City. "By doing this, you also clear the way for your moisturizer to work optimally." For an instant mood boost, choose scrubs scented with orange, pomegranate, and cucumber. On days you need to de-stress, go for a lavender oil scrub, a scent known for its soothing effects.
