OF WINNING. THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ENTER. (1)
Mail a postcard with your name, address, day and
evening phone numbers to: Ladies’ Home Journal, Funny
Ladies We Love Sweepstakes,125 Park Ave., New
York, NY 10017, or (2) visit www.lhj.com/funnyladies,
register and complete online entry form. There is no
cost to register or enter. One entry per household, regardless
of method of entry. Sweepstakes begins
10/1/04 and ends 12/1/04. Mail entries must be postmarked
by 12/1/04 and received by 12/07/04. Online
entries must be received by 11:59 p.m., ET, 12/1/04.
Meredith Corp., 1716 Locust St., Des Moines, Iowa;
and The Dressbarn, Inc., 30 Dunnigan Dr., Suffern, New
York (“Sponsors”), assume no responsibility for illegible,
lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or stolen entries
or mail or for entries they are unable to process due to
network, hardware or other technical failures. Entries
become property of Sponsors and will not be acknowledged
or returned. Legal U.S. residents, 21 years of age
or older are eligible to enter, except employees of Sponsors,
their agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and members
of their immediate families or persons residing in the
same household.
On or about 12/21/04, a random
drawing from among all eligible entries received will be
conducted under Sponsors’ supervision to award the
following prize package to one (1) winner: two (2)
round-trip economy class airline tickets to Los Angeles,
California, from major airport nearest winner’s residence
to attend the February 2005 “Funny Ladies We
Love” Awards (“Event”), approximate retail value
("ARV") $1,600; two (2) tickets to the Event, ARV $450;
three days/two nights accommodations at a luxury hotel
selected by Sponsors, ARV $700; Sponsors’ selected
pre-Event hair and make-up services for two (2) persons,
ARV $500; and one $500 dressbarn gift certificate.
Any and all non-itemized expenses are the sole
responsibility of winner, including without limitation,
meals, taxes, gratuities, incidentals, and transportation
to/from airport/hotel/Event/pre-Event make-up sessions
or shopping. Gift certificates, vouchers and other service-
based prizes are subject to issuer restrictions or
provider limitations.
Travel must be completed and hair
and makeup services used by March 31, 2005. Gift certificate
and Event tickets subject to issuers’ terms and
restrictions. The prize, or any part thereof, may not be
assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash,
except at sole discretion of Sponsors. Prize is awarded
“as is” with no warranty or guarantee express or implied.
Potential winner will be notified by phone and/or
mail on or about 12/21/04. Decisions of Sponsors are
final and binding in all respects. The awarding of any
prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official
Rules and winner may be subject to other verification
and eligibility requirements.
Entrants agree to be
bound by these Official Rules and agree that if any winner
fails to provide proof of identity, refuses to provide
required affidavit, is found to have violated these Official
Rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria,
such winner will be deemed to have forfeited prize and
Sponsors will award prize to an alternate winner in a
random drawing. Entrants understand that Sponsors
are not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind
arising from participation in this promotion and acceptance,
possession and use of prize, including any travel
or activity related thereto. Sponsors disclaim all and
any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of
any third party goods or services provided to winner.
Odds of winning depend upon number of eligible entries
received. Estimated circulation of offer: 4.1 million.
Except where prohibited by law: (i) entry constitutes
permission to use winner’s entry, name, hometown,
voice, likeness, photograph, and any statements regarding
this sweepstakes for editorial, public relations, promotional
and advertising purposes on behalf of
Sponsors without compensation; (ii) potential winner
will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility
and Release of Liability/Publicity within 10 days of notification
or an alternate winner will be selected by a random
drawing. Travel companion is required to complete
Liability/Publicity Release prior to travel. If winner notification
is returned as undeliverable, an alternate winner
will be selected by random drawing.
By participating
and winning prize, winner releases Sponsors, their parents,
affiliates, subsidiaries, and agencies and their respective
directors, officers, employees and agents from
any and all liability with respect to prize won and participation
in sweepstakes. Subject to all U.S. federal, state
and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
Taxes on prize are sole responsibility of winner. For
winner’s name, available after 2/15/05, send a separate
SASE to above address. Residents of VT and WA may
omit return postage.
