After recently going through breast cancer treatment and having a double mastectomy, I have real body image issues. Getting back to a healthy weight and feeling attractive again would help me adjust to my new body and really would change my life.
Who (or what) is your greatest inspiration? I'm inspired by Christians who really walk the talk, like Beth Moore. Also my friend Anne, a pastor's wife and mother of three, who has a precious heart and more energy in her little finger than I have in my whole body, and who is probably a size 3. And Oprah can be pretty inspiring, too.
Proudest moment in your life (so far)? Graduating from college in my 30s with a 12-month-old and 8 months pregnant with my second baby.

Where do you hope you'll be in five years? Still at my ideal weight, possibly a mother-in-law, with two sons already graduated from college, one in college, and the last one a junior in high school. How do you want this program to change your life? I want to be able to live life. I'm still very young (24) and don't want to miss out on having fun. I love being active but it's harder now that I'm heavier. I can't play as long or as hard as I'd like to.
Who (or what) is your greatest inspiration? My mom has always been my greatest inspiration when it comes to strength and perseverance. As for weight loss, I have four bathing suits I bought years ago and was never able to wear. I am determined to wear them this summer or next.
Proudest moment in your life (so far)? Graduating from college and being so close to getting my master's degree.

What diets have you tried before? Just about everything! Cabbage Soup diet, First Place, Weight Watchers, Weigh Down, Body for Life, and Medifast. I actually did Jenny Craig 15 years ago and loved it, but had to quit because of the cost. Then I started having babies. I was somewhat successful on a few of those diets, but always gained it back, especially when I would have another baby. After five kids, nothing seemed to work for me because I'm an emotional eater. Having five kids is wonderful and fun, but stressful at times.
How do you want this program to change your life? My goal is to learn to eat healthy, lose weight, and be able to be active with my children. I want to learn to deal with my emotional eating problem and learn self control when it comes to portion size. I know I will feel better, look better, and be a happier, more energetic mom and wife. I want to be free from thinking about food and my weight all the time!

Proudest moment in your life (so far)? Holding my babies for the first time after they were born.

Who's your style icon? I don't really have one. I try to dress modestly, but a little bit trendy. I just want to be a cute mom, not a fashion model.
In what outfit do you most want to show off your new body? I know this is silly, but I can't wait to wear stylish jeans with a cute white T-shirt tucked in.
Where do you hope you'll be in five years? I hope that I will be a happy, healthy, mom who is a Christian role model to my children and an inspiration to other moms like me who have struggled with their weight. I hope all my struggles with weight and food will be long gone and I can age gracefully and healthily.

Name: Jaci Willoughby
Age: 38

Current weight: 288 pounds
Goal weight: 160 pounds -- so you can see I have my work cut out for me.
Favorite activities: I blog, therefore I am. I do a lot of crafts -- mostly cross stitching and paper crafts. I LOVE music, and I am a reality TV show junkie. I'll be adding exercise to this very soon as well! I just have to convince myself it's a "favorite activity."

Lowest ever weight as an adult: 150 pounds -- when I was 21 -- before I had hypothyroidism.
Highest ever weight as an adult: I'm at my highest weight now -- 288 pounds.
What diets have you tried before? I think the question is what haven't I tried!
How do you want this program to change your life? I was just diagnosed with high blood pressure, so this change first and foremost is about getting healthy! I also want to be fit for the first time in my adult life -- I have a rare opportunity to start all over and be whoever I want to be.
Who (or what) is your greatest inspiration? My greatest inspiration in life is Bono -- the lead singer of the group U2. #1 his voice and music are amazing ... that's what made me fall in love with him back in 1985. But I admire him even more now for his work in AIDS and debt relief for Africa. He makes me want to be a better person in life. My greatest inspirations in weight loss are my online support group buddies. We're fighting the war on fat together -- they are all an amazing group of people and they make me want to be just like them!
Proudest moment in your life (so far)? I am the first person -- from both parents' families -- to graduate from college. I am proud of the woman I grew up to be.
What makes you feel beautiful? Knowing that inner strength and character is what makes you a beautiful person. Helping others to find that inner strength makes me feel beautiful.
Who's your style icon? Style -- hahahahaha! Do sweat pants and T-shirts count as "style"? This is where I need help at Ladies' Home Journal the most! Help me! I have no style!
In what outfit do you most want to show off your new body? I'd say a dress -- but I really am not a girlie girl. I want to look cute in everyday casual clothes because that's what fits my personality the best. I live in Florida and have been afraid to wear shorts out in public for years. So that's what I want: cute shorts and a summer top. To have the confidence to wear those again would be a wondrous thing!
Where do you hope you'll be in five years? In five years time I hope to be fit and healthy. I hope to have a career in writing -- perhaps as a Web producer for a local newspaper or television station -- or even as a writer for a popular magazine. That might mean taking a few more college classes, but it's a dream I've had for quite some time now.

What diets have you tried before? Slimfast, Phen-Fen diet pills, low-fat/low-calorie diets
How do you want this program to change your life? First and foremost, I want this program to teach me how to live a healthy life. I hope to not only look better, but also feel better, both physically and emotionally, in order to be my best self.
Who (or what) is your greatest inspiration? My mother has always, and will always, be my greatest inspiration. She's quite simply a magnificent person in every sense of the word. My mom has gone through a lot of "battles" in her life, but she manages to keep on going, all while maintaining the most amazing attitude. If I become only half the woman she is, I will be greatly blessed in my life. She is also the person who found out about the New Year, New You contest and helped me film my video.
Proudest moment in your life (so far)? The proudest moment in my life occurred quite recently when I had the courage to give up a career in which I was very successful, though miserable, in order to complete my college education. I'll be enrolled in college before this year is out!

In what outfit do you most want to show off your new body? That's easy...a bikini!!!
