Bio: Dr. Yashari is a board-certified psychiatrist in private practice in Los Angeles. She sees women and men for both psychotherapy and medication management. Dr. Yashari specializes in women's mental health, focusing on mood and anxiety disorders during times of transition in women's lives, including but not limited to pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and menopause. In addition to her private practice, she is a volunteer clinical faculty member at the Women's Life Center at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior (formerly the Neuropsychiatric Institute) where she supervises and teaches residents.
Dr. Yashari graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor of arts in psychology. During this time, she led workshops in public elementary and high schools educating students on body image, self-esteem, eating disorders, and overall health and well-being. She also received a Summer Intramural Research Training Award Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health, where she did research in endocrinology. Soon after graduating, before entering medical school, she dedicated her time volunteering at the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic in San Francisco, where she served as a health educator and HIV-antibody test counselor for underserved women.
She attended the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in Israel, where she graduated with honors. She pursued her psychiatric training through a residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she completed training in specialty clinics such as the Mood Disorders Clinic and the Women's Life Center. In addition, she underwent extensive training in various psychotherapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and marital therapy. During her residency, she co-founded and led the Women's Wellness Group, a weekly outpatient women's psycho-education and support group.
Dr. Yashari incorporates a variety of modalities in her practice, including mindfulness and meditation exercises. She lives in Los Angeles.
