It Takes Years Off
Iridescent, frosty makeup can highlight every wrinkle, so you have to apply it carefully. Today's matte textures are more goof-proof. Their natural, velvety finish and subtle sheen are very forgiving, says Keri Blair, MAC senior makeup artist.
It Lasts Longer
You don't need to touch up matte makeup as often as cream. "It's slightly drier than reflective makeup, which gives it extra grip," says Shu Uemura makeup artist Jason Hoffman. And since it's so pigment-rich, matte makeup won't fade as fast.
It Delivers Rich Color
If you're looking for deep, bold color in one easy swipe, matte makeup is the perfect choice. It has more pigment than sheer, translucent formulas so you don't need to keep layering it on. "Matte lets you accomplish more with less," Blair says.
