Revamp a Lamp

Make an old fixture seem brand new by covering a basic drum shade with mod wallpaper or fabric remnants. Choose a medium-scale all-over pattern for best results. (We used Printer's Guild Productions Jazz Collection WE71505, $59 per roll, seabrookwallpaper.com.) Cut the paper to fit the shade with a craft knife and adhere with craft glue. Finish the look with ribbon trim along the edges. If your original shade is pleated, switch it out for an inexpensive self-adhesive model from hollywoodlightscrafts.com and stick on your custom-cut wallpaper.
