Christmas calendar

Countdown to Christmas

Mark each day leading up to the holiday with our fresh take on the Advent calendar. Arrange spray-painted branches in a tall vase and hang 24 colored vellum envelopes from them. Number the envelopes with rubber stamps or markers, punch a small hole near the top, and attach a ribbon hanger. Fill each one with a small treat (tiny candies and chocolate), a slip of paper listing a thoughtful idea for the day (donate to a coat drive, call Grandma to say hello), or a seasonal activity (watch It's a Wonderful Life with the family, go ice-skating).
