The Amazing Dresser Do-Over

Sanding dresser
Start by Sanding

Here's my makeover in six easy steps. I like to work outside in my driveway, which makes cleanup easier.

You need to roughen the surface to help the paint adhere. First remove the drawers and take off the drawer pulls. Then lightly sand the sides, front, and top of the dresser with an electric sander (if you don't have one, you can sand it by hand).
