My Mom is the greatest (see second photo)! She has two full-time jobs, one as a real estate agency and the other as the caretaker of my 92 year old grandmother (along with my Dad). My grandmother has advanced dementia and for those who are not familiar with the disease, it is challenging to deal with on a daily basis.
3/23/2011 09:37:05 PM Report AbuseMy grandmother may ask the same question 50 to 100 times a day. She doesn't recall the meal she had 20 minutes prior, she is unable bath by herself or cook and she is prone to Alzheimer attacks (a nonsensical fit of rage that needs to be managed with medication) without warning. These are just a few of the things that my Mom does every day with/for her Mother and never does she complain or grimace. She understands the disease and embraces ever lucid moment she has with her Mom, my Grandma.
