I am nominating Jenny Williamson, the founder of Courage to Be You, Inc. Jenny is a woman with a contagious passion and vision to make a difference by changing lives one at a time. She is making a huge impact, not only in her community, but in the world. When Jenny first heard about children being trafficked, her heart was pierced. She was even more saddened to find out the issue was happening in her own community. But instead of learning this and doing nothing, she acted. That’s when Jenny's vision to build Courage House was born. More than a house, it is a home—a safe place where victims of trafficking will be able to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. Jenny has devoted her life to this cause. Her passion and volunteer efforts go beyond the children and touch every single volunteer that joins C2BU. After just two years, she has inspired over 250 volunteers who have joined C2BU, with a core group of about 50 who lovingly sacrifice a full-time commitment. This contagious spirit continues to grow and, together, this group is changing lives. C2BU has purchased 50 acres of land, a house, and barn for the first U.S.A. Courage House in rural Northern California and was given several horses to begin an equestrian program. In addition, C2BU was able to lease a building and land in Tanzania, Africa for free for the first International Courage House. It all began with the vision of Jenny and her heart to help these vulerable children. |
