We don't know what we would have done without Amy in our lives during that time. Peyton was in the NICU for a total of four months, and Amy was by our side the entire time. She is our angel and we are so thankful to have her in our lives. For this reason, I nominate Amy for all she does as a NICU nurse and for the countless families whose lives she has touched.

We immediately connected with her, and Amy loved and cared for Peyton as if she were a third parent. She helped us with some extremely difficult decisions that we had to make. She allowed me to cry on her shoulder, helped us to have the strength to believe in our daughter, and was a friend to us in our time of need.

Last year my husband and I went through one of the most difficult events in our lives. Our daughter, Peyton, was born at just 27 weeks gestation weighing 1 pound 7 ounces. To say that we were scared for her health would be an understatement. She was immediately admitted to the NICU and we were told to hope and pray for the best. On our third day in the NICU we met Amy, who became one of our primary nurses.
