My Mom takes such good care of my 90 year old grandma and our family that we through her a surprise party.
Her patience, her commitment to taking care of her Mother, her drive and ambition to be successful in her career and always putting her family above all are just a few of her admirable traits-- I look up to her and want her to know that she is special for being able to do it all and do it all with a genuine smile and no regrets.
My grandmother may ask the same question 50 to 100 times a day. She doesn't recall the meal she had 20 minutes prior, she is unable bath by herself or cook and she is prone to Alzheimer attacks (a nonsensical fit of rage that needs to be managed with medication) without warning. These are just a few of the things that my Mom does every day with/for her Mother and never does she complain or grimace. She understands the disease and embraces ever lucid moment she has with her Mom, my Grandma.
My Mom is the greatest (see second photo)! She has two full-time jobs, one as a real estate agency and the other as the caretaker of my 92 year old grandmother (along with my Dad). My grandmother has advanced dementia and for those who are not familiar with the disease, it is challenging to deal with on a daily basis.
