Sweetened Summer Berries

Kitchen cue: Use a whisk to whip up some heavy cream, sweetened with a little sugar, and add a dollop to each serving to complement the tartness of these Sweetened Summer Berries.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups  raspberries
  • 2 cups  blueberries
  • 2 cups  blackberries
  • 1/4 cup  sugar
  • 1/4 cup  fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and gently stir until just combined. Let fruit stand at room temperature, stirring occasionally, for at least 15 minutes and up to 1 hour to macerate (the combination of sugar and citrus juice softens and infuses flavor in the fruit). Serve chilled or at room temperature.
