The Family Deen

"With us Deens, food and family go hand in hand," says Paula Deen about her two sons' new cookbook, The Deen Bros. Y'all Come Eat. She couldn't be prouder. "They're not perfect, but they're good, kind men, and they also happen to be fabulous cooks," she says. She should know. Bobby (at left) and Jamie were with her from the very beginnings of the Lady & Sons, the Savannah, Georgia, restaurant synonymous with homey, hearty Southern cooking since 1996. And, she admits, this is a family that doesn't eat to live -- they live to eat! In fact, the two sons write in the book -- which captures the clan's energy -- that they were both having fun in the kitchen with Mama Deen by age 7. Cooking together is not just a way to connect with others, they learned, it also makes putting together a meal faster and easier. These tasty, satisfying dishes are Bobby and Jamie's favorites -- and the perfect way to express your love for the people in your life. That's Deen delicious!
