Christmas Morning Treat: Cranberry Maple Syrup

For a sweet Christmas-morning treat, infuse pure maple syrup with fresh, tart cranberries. It's super-easy!

Combine 1 cup fresh or frozen whole cranberries in a medium saucepan with 2 cups pure maple syrup and 3/4 teaspoon orange zest; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Gently simmer until the cranberries begin to burst and release their juice, about 8 minutes. Serve warm, or cool to room temperature and refrigerate, tightly covered, until ready to use.
