While holiday traditions are to be valued, there's something wonderful about spicing up your usual decorating scheme with fresh touches -- and starting new traditions to love. This year, consider punching up your holiday greenery. Spruce up your wreath with natural materials such as dried autumn leaves, bright berry clusters, or strung pinecones. On your tree, intersperse new, homemade ornaments with your existing collection -- it's a great way to get the kids involved in holiday decorating. And don't forget your holiday tabletop. Try something new as a centerpiece, like a cake stand piled high with bright clementines, or a bowl filled with glass ornaments.
