Boo Welcome Sign

This seasonal greeting will look great sitting on your porch steps or lining the walkway to your front door.

1. Hollow out three medium pumpkins through a hole cut in the bottom. Using a loop tool, scrape the inside front wall of each pumpkin (where the letters will go) until it is just about half an inch thick.

2. Using a china marker, draw one letter on each pumpkin. (If you don't feel comfortable drawing freehand, print out the letters in a favorite font and enlarge each individually on a black-and-white copier. Then cut out each letter and trace it onto the pumpkin with a china marker.)

3. Using a linoleum cutter, carve off the top layer of skin within the letter to create a shallow relief carving.

4. Cut a small hole in the back for ventilation. Position a lit pillar candle on a small plate and place the pumpkin over it.
