What You Need:

Make as many boy or girl charms as
desired for your greetings.

  • Thin chenille stems
  • Jump ring
  • Wood beads
  • 1/4-inch ribbon
  • Metal ball chain
  • Card stock
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Glue stick
  • Decorative papers
  • Tape

Instructions:

1. Fold a chenille stem in half. Thread a jump ring onto the center of the chenille stem. Thread both ends of the chenille stem through the wood bead head.

2. Bend each of the chenille stems out at a 90-degree angle to make the arms approximately 3/4-inch long. Fold the stems back along the arms until they meet at the body. Twist the stem together once and then form the remaining ends into a triangle skirt for the girl or inch-long legs that fold back onto themselves for the boy. In either case, twist the ends together and trim away the leftover chenille stem.

3. Tie a small bow around the waists of the girl charms. Thread the appropriate combination of girl or boy charms onto the metal ball chain.

4. To make a card, fold a 5 x 8-inch piece of card stock in half and then glue one or two rectangles of decorative paper to the front of the card.

Bright Idea

Paint tiny faces on the bead heads using toothpicks dipped in acrylic paint.
