Photo Gift Tags

There's no mistaking who the gift
is from when you attach tags like
these.

Look for sturdy 2 x 3-inch tags at office supply shops, or cut your own from construction paper. For the photo, write a message in large letters on a piece of construction paper: "From Me," "Happy Holidays," or "Love, Grandma and Grandad." Take a picture of the gift giver holding the paper. A head and chest shot works best. After you have the film developed, take the print to a Kodak copier (they're usually in the film department of a drug store or discount store) and follow the instructions to make nine wallet-size copies. The copier reduces your original image to this size and makes multiple images all at the same time. One sheet costs about $7. If you need more tags, make color photocopies at a copy center for $1 each. Cut away the background, and use a glue stick to attach the photo image to the gift tag.

The stamp-size photos that accompany a full set of portrait photos from some photo studios are perfect for gift tags. Simply cut them out and glue them onto construction paper. Another option is sticker film from Polaroid. Look for the cameras and film at discount stores and drug stores. Each photo comes out as a small sticker that you can apply directly to the gift tag.
