Devil Dog Carob Brownies
Vegetable oil, to grease the pan 1/2 cup vegetable shortening 3 tablespoons honey 4 large eggs 4 egg shells, ground 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup whole-wheat flour 1/4 cup carob powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix the shortening and honey in a large bowl with a fork until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix until well combined. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes. Set aside to cool. Cut into 24 pieces. Brownies may be individually wrapped and frozen for up to 2 months.
