Miranda Lambert has rescued dogs from some unusual places, including the side of a highway during a snowstorm and the drive-through at her local burger joint. "I went to get cherry limeades for me and Blake [Shelton, her husband] and saw this Chihuahua-pug mix running around homeless," she says. "So I went back to Blake with two cherry limeades and a dog." Over the years Lambert has rescued dozens of dogs. Seven of them live with her but she usually fosters strays until they find permanent homes. "Rescue dogs give you so much love. They look at you like, Thanks for saving me!" Lambert is so passionate about helping dogs in need that she started a nonprofit called MuttNation Foundation, which provides assistance and safe havens for abandoned animals. She also performs at an annual MuttNation benefit concert. "So far we've raised nearly $800,000," she says. "I'm not an artist who talks about a charity and does nothing. My goal is to help as many animals as we can."
