Shenandoah National Park

Cutting through the entire length of Shenandoah National Park in Virginia is the 105-mile Skyline Drive, one of the most impressive scenic roads you'll ever see. Keep your eyes open for deer and other wildlife as you cruise at the strictly enforced 35 mph speed limit. There are 75 overlooks along the way. And when you're ready to leave the car, you can hike part of the Appalachian Trail that runs through the park. At the end of the day, lie down and stretch your weary body in Big Meadows, appropriately named for its enormity. Information: 540-999-3500
