Once the sole province of date night, the newest jewel-toned lipsticks are so seductive they're worth looking at in a whole new light. Specifically, daylight. "With a great ruby lip, you need almost nothing else for day -- just bright eyes and (seemingly) naked, beautiful skin," says Geri Oppenheim, Parenthood's head makeup artist.

"Despite a fear of lipstick smears, I love how this looks," Potter said.
