The Real Way to Wear It: "Go with a coral," says Mathew Nigara, makeup artist for N.Y.C. Color. "It's softer but still looks fresh for spring."
1. Prep your lips with a little balm, then apply a coral lipstick or gloss. Go with a pinky coral if your skin has cool undertones (like the model here) or an orange-based coral if you have a warmer complexion.
2. If you want to pump up the intensity, dab red lipstick on the center of your lips and tap the color with your fingertip to blend it in.
3. Finally, line the edges of your lips with a flesh-toned lip or concealer pencil. This will prevent the color from bleeding and make your lips look fuller. Run your pinkie over the line to blend completely.
Goof-Proof Tip: Looking for a softer finish? Use a tinted lip balm or gel stain for sheer color in one swipe.
